Department of Computer Applications

The Department of Computer Application was established in 2002, one of the first institutions to launch this programme with an aim to create professionals in the field of computer Applications. The Department has been able to successful deliver human resources who are engaged in various field of Computer Application across the Globe. The Department has constantly upgrading to meet the evolving trends of the Industry. The Department has from its ambient launched two more programmes based on market demand and NAAC recommendations viz BSCIT and MCA. The Programme of BSCIT was launch in year 2018 and MCA in year 2019. .

1. To promote academic excellence by providing quality education in an intellectually stimulating environment and sustaining the ethical and social morals of the individuals to enhance their quality of life.
2. To generate competent professionals to become part of the industry and research organizations at the national and international levels.
3. To become a Centre of Excellence in the computer sciences and information technology discipline with a strong research and teaching environment that adapts swiftly to the challenges of the 21st century.

Strength
1. One of the departments which with its strength is catering to all computer & allied subjects for all disciplines offered by the college.
2. Based on faculty and decent infrastructure the department is youngest to launch two courses from its ambit i.e. B.Sc. I.T. & MCA.
3. Faculty of department is providing IT solutions to admission & examination related needs of entire institution.
Weakness
1. Less technical Staff.
2. Poor/ No mechanism for maintenance of equipment.

BACHELORS IN COMPUTER APPLICATIONS (BCA)
Eligibility
Passed their Higher Secondary Part II examination (class 12th) in full of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education/CBSE or an examination recognized as its equivalent by the University of Kashmir/JKBOSE.
Open Merit – 50 % marks
Categories – 45 % marks
Intake-80 seats.
